Hornos village church. Jaen. Spain. 1523
The Villa de Hornos de Segura has a parish under the invocation of Our Lady of the Assumption belonging to the Orcera Arciprestazgo.
The parish church stands in the Town Hall square, being drowned in some way by some constructions that prevent it from traveling abroad in all its dimensions.
It has a single nave and two bodies attached to both sides penetrating them through two semicircular arches with Renaissance moldings; one serves as a sacristy with adintelada cover while the other, apparently an old baptistery, is covered with a starry Gothic vault with its diagonals and third. The ship is all covered with three simple starry Gothic vaults with its third, highlighting that of the presbytery for its greater wealth of composition, because if they all have their diagonals, third and ligatures, straight combos appear here; the ribs fall on half-point perpiant arches...
